First Day in Prague.

Because we were up sooooo early from jet lag, we made our way at about 7am to the city center via tram. The first stop was the classic Old Town sights... the famous astronomical clock with the little skeleton man that we loved and Old Town square. Because it was soooo early in the morning, not a single soul was about. We would later see this same area thronged with tourists. But for us on our first day, we got to see it deserted. (With the exception of some workers and service vehicles getting set up for the day.)

Because it was just a few days after Christmas, the square was still festooned with Christmas market stalls, and lit up with a ginormous Christmas tree or several, the spires of the town basilica reaching skyward in the background. The Charles Bridge was covered with fog and we got some of our favorite shots right there.

I think the temperature was in the low to mid 30s. Not too bad.

Fortunately, Kyle bought a sim chip for his phone. A lifesaver because he could consult apps, You Tubes and maps quickly.  First pics taken in Prague Old Town! Early morning!

So tall I could not fit it in the shot without Kyle becoming a tiny speck!

Breakfast at the Home Kitchen. Poached eggs over Canadian bacon. We had to ask the tourists sitting next to us how to tip. It was our first meal out. Good, but in retrospect a bit pricey.

This is the world famous Charles Bridge, covered in a mystic and atmospheric  fog. Later in the day it would be covered with a million not so atmospheric tourists.

Taking our hot wine over the bridge....as it should be!

Me next to the pay WC. Little did we know at the time, you have to pay to potty in Prague!

Yes, this is a thing. So is the Museum of Communism!

Bad bad selfie on the bridge...

Bad bad---selfie stick in the basilica!
